Van Wyck-Lefferts Tide Mill

During Long Island’s agricultural past, mills used water to create energy, transforming grains into flour.  One such mill is the Van Wyck-Lefferts Tide Mill in Lloyd Harbor, an intact water-powered mill dating back to 1795.

You can’t tour this historical treasure via your boat, but the Huntington Historical Society offers its own 90-minute guided boat tour on the following dates: September 15, September 17, October 16, October 27, and October 31.

Advanced registration is required; all tour dates allow the possibility of a rain date the following day. Please know that the boat and mill are not handicapped accessible and children under the age of 12 are not permitted.
