Boating to the US Open at the Billy Jean King National Tennis Center gives you an advantage over those traveling by car or subway — you beat those troublesome double faults of traffic and parking!
The National Tennis Center grounds will be free and open to the public during Fan Week, August 19–25, featuring family-friendly activities and the US Open Qualifying Tournament played August 19–22. Tournament play (tickets necessary) begins Monday, August 26 and concludes Sunday, September 8.
Boaters will arrive relaxed and ready to cheer for the world’s most prestigious tennis players (appearances are not confirmed at press time). The NY Mets play next door for nine days of Fan Week and the Open, so arriving by boat is especially aces on those days to avoid mind-numbing traffic and parking hassles.
Transient space may be available at the World’s Fair Marina, but due to construction, Pier 1 is currently closed. There is limited transient dockage for “smaller recreational vessels.” Call 718-478-0480 or communicate via VHF channel 71 to reserve space before setting out.
