Port Jefferson Village Cup Regatta

Racing sailboats provide the thrilling entertainment as the annual Village Cup Regatta takes place Saturday, September 9. This friendly competition raises funds for the John T. Mather Memorial Hospital Palliative Medicine Program and The Lustgarten Foundation for pancreatic cancer research.

Presented by the Port Jefferson Yacht Club, club-skippered sailboats crewed by employees from the hospital and Port Jefferson Village race based on boat size. The festivities begin in Port Jefferson’s Harborfront Park at 10:00 am, with the sailboats taking part in the regatta passing by the village dock at 11:00 am.

Want to watch the races from your own boat? Hail the committee boat on VHF channel 72 as you approach the entrance to Port Jefferson Harbor for specific directions.

Following the regatta, a celebratory Skipper’s Reception and presentation of the Village Cup will take place in a restored 1917 shipyard building that now serves as the Port Jefferson Village Center.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals can support the regatta and the programs it funds by making a donation, purchasing tickets to attend the Skipper’s Reception, or joining a spectator boat to view the races.
