North Hempstead Beach Park, tucked into the south part of Hempstead Harbor at Bar Beach, is usually a calm place to drop anchor and enjoy a relaxing day. On five Sundays it offers more than leisurely fun in the sun — the Town of North Hempstead presents concerts on a stage facing the water. Most boaters hear the music and have a view of the performers.

The concerts begin at 1:00 pm. As of press date, the scheduled line-up is:

July 7               Nitework Band

July 14             Simply Diamond

July 21             South Bound

July 28             Kamellott

August 4         The Uplifters

There is a small dock for inflatables; the park has a concession stand and restrooms.
