Riverhead Holiday Happenings
Riverhead will be aglow on Saturday, December 7 with a festive parade, a roaring waterfront bonfire, and a spectacular tree lighting. December 8 is the backup date in case of uncooperative weather.
The fun gets underway at 1:00 pm for both participants and spectators of the Riverhead Lions Club’s Annual Holiday Parade. After marching, celebrants gather at the Peconic Riverfront to sip hot chocolate and cheer Santa’s arrival by boat (holiday adorned boats are welcome to join Santa’s flotilla on the river). A blazing bonfire, music, games, crafts, juggling, and other activities keeps the celebration sparkling. At 5:15 pm, the town tree will twinkle with holiday lights, marking the finale.
