Lloyd Harbor
This serene spot on the western side of the entrance to Huntington Bay is known for its proximity to the The moorings are reserved, but there’s a designated deep-water area for visitors to anchor, as well as an expanse for water skiing and tubing. The harbormaster monitors visiting boaters and enforces rules prohibiting boaters from disturbing the residents living along the harbor.
Speaking of residents — take some time out of your relaxing day to gaze upon the stately and picturesque homes along and above the shoreline. Yet the grandest home around may well be the lighthouse, built in 1912. It’s still a working aid to navigation and is listed on the National Historic Register.
There are no facilities in Lloyd Harbor, but the nearby harbors of Oyster Bay, Cold Spring Harbor, Huntington, and Northport have boating amenities, eateries, and shopping galore.
