Port Jefferson transforms itself from a bustling harborside village into a Victorian wonderland at its 28th Annual Charles Dickens Festival.
This lively waterfront village comes alive with Dickensian scenes on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8. The sounds of carols, the bustle of Santa’s workshop, the waiting carriage horses, Tiny Tim playing with his trains, Mrs. Cratchit crafting, the glimmering trees, and the merry hearts create a joyous atmosphere filled with magic, puppets, treats, caroling, and authentic-looking and crowd-pleasing Dickensian characters.
There’s a performance each night at 7:00 pm of “A Christmas Carol” at Theatre Three (buy tickets in advance). Purchase food and other fare at the village’s plentiful eateries and shops. Many of the Festival’s events and entertainment are free.
