There’s an anchorage known to North Shore boaters who find themselves drawn to it time after time. Once you’ve dropped anchor in this calm water getaway on the east side of the entrance to Port Jefferson Harbor, you’ll count yourself among them!
There is plenty of water and a wide area to enter the cove. Even when the Long Island Sound is not so calm, this protected area is a tranquil haven. Besides Pirates Cove’s relaxing vibe, boaters love to swim or paddle to the nearby dunes and climb up to glimpse spectacular views.
There are no facilities in Pirates Cove, but Port Jefferson Village is just south in the harbor. That’s where you’ll find transient space, fuel, restaurants, and streets filled with shopping, entertainment, and other enticements.
