Once you’ve dropped anchor in this calm water haven on the east side of the entrance to Port Jefferson Harbor, you’ll want to return time after time.

There is plenty of water and a wide area to enter the cove.  Even if the Long Island Sound is kicking up a bit, this area is so protected you’re usually able to swim through calm waters to the nearby dunes with spectacular views.

There are no facilities in Pirates Cove, but Port Jefferson Village is just south in the harbor. There you will find transient space, fuel, restaurants, and streets filled with shopping, entertainment, and other enticements.
